Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Causiq is a general wellness and awareness application developed and operated from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In this Privacy Policy, "Causiq", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the Causiq team and its operators.
This policy governs personal information collected through our website (causiq.com.au), our waitlist, contact form, and any other Causiq service or channel where this policy is referenced — from users located in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and elsewhere.
You can reach us via our Contact Us form or at psamantsu@causiq.com.au.
2. Jurisdiction overview
This policy is designed to meet applicable privacy obligations across our key markets. The relevant laws and your rights under each are described throughout this document:
Where laws in your jurisdiction give you additional rights not listed here, those rights are not extinguished by this policy.

- Full name (optional) — for personalised communications.
- Stage in journey (optional) — to understand our audience and develop the product.
- Top challenge (optional) — to inform our product roadmap.

3.2 Contact form
When you send us a message, we collect your name (required), email address (required), mobile number (optional), and message content (required).
3.3 Automatically collected information
Our hosting infrastructure may log standard server data including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. This is used for security and operational purposes only, not to identify individuals.
3.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect medical records, prescription details, diagnostic information, or any clinical health data through this website. The Causiq app, when launched, will have its own separate in-app privacy notice covering data recorded within the application.
4. How we use your information
By providing your information to Causiq, you agree that we may use it for the following purposes:
- Adding you to the early-access waitlist and notifying you when access opens.
- Marketing and communications — sending you updates, announcements, product news, promotional offers, and other marketing content related to Causiq's launch, features, and ongoing business activities.
- Product development — using feedback (individual and aggregated) to shape features, prioritise our roadmap, and conduct user research.
- Business activities — any activity reasonably related to the launch, operation, and growth of the Causiq business, including investor communications, partner outreach, and operational planning.
- Responding to contact enquiries.
- Complying with legal obligations in the jurisdictions we operate in.
We will not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4.1 Legal basis for processing UK & EU
Under UK GDPR, we process your personal data on the following bases: consent (where you have ticked our consent checkbox or subscribed to communications); legitimate interests (for product development, fraud prevention, and service improvements); and legal obligation (where required by law).
4.2 Canadian consent Canada
Under PIPEDA and CASL, we collect and use your information with your knowledge and consent. By joining the waitlist, you expressly consent to receiving commercial electronic messages from Causiq. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).
4.3 California residents US — California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. See Section 10 for how to exercise your rights.
5. User submissions and intellectual property
Any ideas, suggestions, feedback, concepts, product recommendations, feature requests, or other information you share with Causiq — whether through the contact form, the waitlist questionnaire, email, or any other channel — are provided voluntarily and become the sole and exclusive intellectual property of Causiq upon submission.
By submitting such information, you:
- Assign to Causiq all rights, title, and interest in that information, including all intellectual property rights.
- Acknowledge that you are not entitled to any compensation, royalty, credit, ownership stake, or other incentive in connection with the submission.
- Waive any moral rights or claims of attribution that may arise from the submission to the maximum extent permitted by the law of your jurisdiction.
Causiq is free to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and incorporate any such submissions into its products, services, or business activities without restriction.
6. Marketing communications and unsubscribing
6.1 Marketing and promotional emails
By joining the Causiq waitlist or providing your email address, you consent to receiving marketing, promotional, and product-related emails from us. These may include early-access updates, feature announcements, launch news, and other Causiq business communications.
You may unsubscribe from marketing and promotional emails at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link included at the bottom of every such email. Your opt-out will be processed promptly — within 10 business days — and you will cease to receive marketing emails from us.
This right is provided in compliance with the Australian Spam Act 2003, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the US CAN-SPAM Act, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
6.2 Transactional emails
Certain emails are transactional in nature — for example, confirmation of your waitlist registration, responses to contact form submissions, account-related notices, and security alerts. Transactional emails will not include an unsubscribe link and cannot be opted out of while you remain a registered user or waitlist participant, as they are necessary for the proper functioning of the service.
7. App screenshots and visual representations
All screenshots, mockups, interface previews, and visual representations of the Causiq application shown on this website and in any associated marketing materials are for representation and illustrative purposes only. They depict a concept of the intended product and may not reflect the final application, including its design, features, functionality, or user interface.
Causiq makes no warranty that the final product will match any representation shown on the website. Features, screens, and flows are subject to change at any time without notice.
8. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database. We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls limiting who can access the database.
As Causiq is operated from Australia, your data may be stored and processed in Australia. If you are located in the UK, US, or Canada, by using our service you consent to your personal information being transferred to and processed in Australia. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law — including under the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, UK GDPR Article 34, and applicable US state breach notification laws.
9. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Consent records (including the timestamp of your agreement) are retained for the duration of our legal obligations, which may extend beyond the deletion of other personal data.

14. Dispute resolution
14.1 Good-faith resolution period
Before either party commences legal proceedings arising from or relating to this Privacy Policy or Causiq's handling of your personal information, both parties agree to make a genuine and good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. The party raising the dispute must provide written notice to the other party. Both parties then have 30 calendar days from the date of that notice to attempt to resolve the matter through direct negotiation or mediation.
Neither party may commence court proceedings during this 30-day period unless interim relief is necessary to prevent irreparable harm.
14.2 Governing law and jurisdiction
If the dispute cannot be resolved within the 30-day good-faith window, all disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or in connection with this Privacy Policy or your use of any Causiq service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your local jurisdiction (including Australian Consumer Law, UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or applicable US or Canadian consumer protection legislation).
15. Severability
If any provision, clause, or part of this Privacy Policy is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, void, or unenforceable for any reason, that provision shall be deemed severed from this policy. The invalidity or unenforceability of any single provision does not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect as if the severed provision had never been included.
16. Changes to this policy
Causiq reserves the right to modify, update, or replace this Privacy Policy at any time and without prior notice. The revised policy will be effective immediately upon posting. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
We encourage you to review this page regularly. Your continued use of any Causiq service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
